Alberta Simpson, from Greene County, lost her job due to outsourcing. Alberta took advantage of the training opportunities available to her through the Trade Act program. She chose to attend Penn Commercial Business & Technical School’s RHVAC (Refrigeration, Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) program and obtained an associate degree. Alberta quickly realized that she was in a non-traditional field of study by being the only woman in her class.  She worked hard throughout her training and maintained a 4.0 GPA. Immediately following graduation she was hired at Rush’s Heating, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration, Sycamore, PA.
