Alpha Natural Resources for being awarded the 2010 Governor's Workforce Development Employer Award.  Alpha Natural Resources collaborated on a project with PA CareerLink Greene County and Southwest Training Services, Inc. to recruit and screen applicants for the mining industry.  Over an 18-month period, 1418 applicants were recruited, 719 individuals were tested, and to date 158 individuals were hired earning an average hourly wage of $22.85 per hour.  Alpha is a Community Partner for Pa CareerLink Greene Co. and is also a partner in the PA Mining Industry Partnership.
